For education

Admission season is short. Your reach should not be.

Enquiries for a school or college arrive in a narrow window, from a catchment that is measured in kilometres, not cities. Most education advertising spends against the whole city and hopes the right parents are in it.

How admission advertising is bought today

Nothing here is unusual or careless — it is how the category has been sold for years. It is worth setting out plainly, because most of the cost is structural rather than anyone’s mistake.

One big board, chosen by availability

A vendor offers whatever hoarding is free that month. The site is picked because it is vacant, not because parents of the right age group pass it. The same board is offered to a school, a jeweller and a hospital in the same week.

Newspaper inserts across a full edition

An insert goes into every copy of an edition, so most of the print reaches households with no child of admission age, and no way to tell which ones did.

Pamphlets handed out at the gate

Distribution is paid per thousand sheets. Nobody counts what was actually handed out, and the same street can be covered twice while the next colony is missed entirely.

No record that it went up

The proof of a campaign is an invoice and, sometimes, one photograph taken from a distance. Whether every site was installed, and for how long, is taken on trust.

What actually moves the bill

  • Paying city-wide rates for a catchment of a few kilometres
  • Peak-season loading — the same board costs more precisely when every school wants it
  • Printing and mounting charged separately per site, often after the fact
  • Sites billed as installed without evidence that they were

We publish no rate card, and no “average campaign cost” — the same site is priced differently in season, and a number invented for a brochure would be worth less than the quote you can get for your own dates.

The old way, and the AdChowk way

Same budget, both times. The only difference is where it is put — and that is the whole product.

Traditional

One place, chosen for you

One hoarding on an arterial road, bought because it was free that month.

What AdChowk does instead

1Catchment2Format mix3Placement4Photo proof

Start from the catchment, not the city

Admissions come from the localities a family can realistically commute from. The plan is built on those localities first, so budget is not spent reaching parents who will never enrol.

Spread the budget across formats, not into one board

The same money split across a school-gate radius — pole kiosks, bus shelters on the school route, apartment lobby screens in nearby societies — is seen more often by the same family than a single hoarding they pass once.

Weight the calendar, not just the map

Enquiry season is short. Placements are timed to the weeks parents are actually deciding, rather than spread flat across a quarter because that is how the vendor sells it.

Proof, not a report

Every placement comes back as a GPS-tagged, timestamped photograph of the actual site. You are billed on the count that was verified, not the count that was assigned — if a site could not be installed, it comes off the invoice rather than into a summary.

How an admission-season plan is built

A walk through one catchment: which localities matter, which formats sit on the school run, and how the same budget is split across them.

Questions we get asked

How much does school advertising cost in Hyderabad?

It depends on the format, the locality and the season — a pole kiosk route and a single arterial hoarding can cost the same and reach very different people. AdChowk quotes per site against real availability rather than publishing a rate card, because the same board changes price between admission season and the rest of the year.

Can we advertise only around our own campus?

Yes. That is the normal case for education. Plans are built locality by locality, so a campaign can be limited to the roads and societies a family would actually commute from.

How do we know the boards actually went up?

Every placement returns a GPS-tagged, timestamped photograph of the installed site. Anything that could not be installed is removed from the invoice rather than reported as complete.
